I don’t get into sports (apparently the Cleveland Cavs are playing for the national championship – who knew!) but I do like to play technology pundit every once in a while. So, here they are my last minute Apple Worldwide Developers Conference predictions.
- New Cinema displays with integrated iSight cameras*
- Updated MacPro processors (BTW I’m quickly writing this on the 8-Core MacPro that I use at the office.)
- A 12-inch MacBook Pro that uses all flash-based memory
- Big changes to Finder (to be rolled out with Leopard in October)
- A DVR component to compliment the AppleTV
- High-Definition content available for purchase from the iTunes Store (read movies & tv shows – high-def podcasts and movie trailers are already available)
- .Mac finally overhauled and made useful (still not sure if it will be worth the money though)
- Widescreen iPods*
- iLife & iWork 07 – iWork will have a spreadsheet application.
- The 17-inch iMac will be discontinued and a newly designed iMac will be debuted.
- Multi-touch controls (ala iPhone) will be incorporated into the notebook line.
- The iPhone will have a SDK (Software Developers Kit) allowing users to run 3rd party applications
- The AirPort Express will be bumped to wireless N specs
- All Macs will come with a minium of 1GB of RAM
*I predicted some of these for release at Macworld 2007 back in January
