That's awesome Jon - it's for that reason that I give it a shot every year - you just might win. I think the problem is a lot of times the guys that "know" sports let their knowledge interfere with logic.

My best friend moved to a Columbus, OH suburb after college and developed some strange affinity for OSU sports, he can name players, their positions and sometimes even where they went to high school. I give him weird looks when he starts talking about stuff like that - so it goes both ways.

But I'm guessing that us non-sports guys are in the minority. Either that or a bunch of guys are liars.

Yep - that's it. Liars.

You are totally on the money. Last year I got involved in my first ever NCAA tourney. Three reasons I did it:

1) Peer pressure -- I was at a new job at a small company and didn't want to seem like a spoil sport.

2) I checked out the online bracket form and realized it was idiot proof -- I just picked whichever team had the best odds in each match up.

3) There were prizes involved.

I know nothing about college basketball. Living near NC State, UNC and Duke means I get weird looks and comments if I happen to wear certain colors on certain days, as if I'm trash talking for my team of choice. Hey, I like baby blue for its own merits!

Anyway, I won the tourney and got a free meal at Red Robin. Huzzah!!
