After a bit of deliberation I am pleased to announce the winners of the Win “Like Vegas, with Jo-Jo’s” T-Shirt Contest:

Protest sign winners (2)

Derrak Ostovic – “Impeach Josh, Vote for Kirsten”
Jeff Rockwood – “Stop In-Law Workplace Harassment”

Look for these shining new protest signs to be added to the header in the near future.

Flattering Review Winner:
Patty Moledor – it’s such a nice review I’m not sure that she actually wrote it about this blog:

This blog is blessed with many great things. It’s open transparency tugs at the heart strings. The humor is full of much fun and fodder. But best of all…God is always genuinely honored.

Scathing Review Winner:
Jeremy Bear:

Josh’s lousy blog once did some plumbing on my bathroom sink. After it was finished, the leak was worse than ever and my cat was pregnant. Draw your own conclusions.

Referral Winner:
Jeremy really captured the spirit of this contest and sent a lot of traffic to the site. In fact he sent over 20% of the hits – clearly making him the winner in terms of referrals. So, Jeremy wins not one, but TWO t-shirts. What he does with them is up to him.

So winners – you should be receiving your shirts very soon. Merry Christmas and thanks for playing. For the winners, and anybody else that has a T-shirt – send me a picture, something fun to fill the flickr files.

After I ran the Christmas contest last year, a lot of people that read my blog said that they saw the contest and would have entered but for some reason or another decided not to. Apparently that is happening again. Now my pride tells me to not say anything about this and act like I had a bunch of people enter and give prizes to the few people that have entered. But for some reason I’m not going to let my sense of self-importance influence this contest. (Don’t worry, I still feel self-important, I think most bloggers probably do.)

This time I’m taking a knee and stating for the record that at this point I’ve only had two people enter the contest by submitting stuff, and two others by referring people. With five days left in the contest – I was starting to develop a bit of a complex. Then I found out my entry form wasn’t working. So if any of you have tried to submit, and haven’t had the form go anywhere – I apologize. So to submit your entry send an email to contest@gitgan.com. The field is wide open, anyone can win so, please submit your entry soon.

Thanks again and sorry about the problems with the form.

**Update: Some of you might be wondering why this contest has such a short timeframe – the reason is that “Like Vegas with Jo-Jo’s” makes an awesome Christmas gift. For some of you, it might be your “gift” to yourself, for those of you that aren’t completely selfish it makes for the best kind of Christmas gift – a free one. And for you all that are truly “other-focused” and you win, but would feel bad about giving someone a gift that cost you nothing – I tell you to get over yourself it’s not about you for crying out loud.

The goal is to get the t-shirts into the winners hands with enough time to wrap and tie a bow on the box. Of course you could just wear it on Christmas morning yourself if you want.

So, hop to it. Write a protest sign – for me/against me, pro-death penalty/against not killing criminals – whatever your protest – send it to me. For the reviewers – funny is best, no more than 30 words. Now write Nancy, write! Really want to win? Do all 4 things – protest, be complimentary, be a jaded reviewer and tell your mom to do the same!**

Last weekend Kirsten and I went to Summit Mall and just as we got to the center of the mall there was a kiosk with something very familiar hanging from it.

My t-shirt design from Rubber City Clothing Company. I’ve got to say it was pretty cool to see that people could buy one of my designs – at the mall. Truth be told I was a little upset when they said that the contest designs were only going to be available for purchase through the website. So when I saw it there at the mall I was pretty excited that it was now available for a much wider audience. So to celebrate (and because I promised my faithful readers that I would do it) I’m announcing a new contest.

The “Like Vegas with Jo-Jo’s” t-shirt contest.

5 winners will be selected by ME. Yep – nothing democratic about this. I’ll be choosing my favorite entries from the following:

Suggest a 3 – 5 word protest sign for the top of my blog. (Two Winners)

Write a flattering review of my blog under 30 words. (One Winner)

Write a scathing review of my blog under 30 words. (One Winner)

If you’re a math genius you’re probably thinking:
“But Josh, you said 5 winners will be selected, but you only point out 4 people can win.”

Yes you’re right – the fifth winner will be selected by the person who refers the most other people to the contest. All you have to do is get the people to reference you in their entry – Your name, e-mail address or web address.

So here are the rules:

One entry per person (You can submit multiple protests sign suggestions in your entry, along with any reviews)

No foul words

Entries from immediate family members, will not be considered for prizes.
(Unlike the Christmas Contest from last year.)

You may choose to respond to any or all categories of the contest.

All entries must be received by 11:59 PM Eastern, December 10, 2005.

If you want to let your friends know about the contest send them an email and direct them to http://www.gitgan.com/tshirt

If you have a blog of your own and would like to promote the contest cut and paste this code into the template of your blog for display in the sidebar or in HTML editing mode you may paste it into the body of a post.

So how do you enter?

Send a message to contest@gitgan.com. Be sure to include your name, T-Shirt Size (M, L & XL only), Mailing Address, The name of the person that referred you. Not required but, if you have a blog – give me your url.

Thanks for reading and good luck!

SAN FRANCISCO—September 7, 2005—Apple® today introduced the iPod® nano, a revolutionary full-featured iPod that holds 1,000 songs yet is thinner than a standard #2 pencil and less than half the size of competitive players. The iPod nano features an ultra-portable, lightweight design with a gorgeous color screen, Apple’s patent pending Click Wheel and the ability to hold 1,000 songs or 25,000 photos. iPod nano works seamlessly with the iTunes® Music Store, the world’s number one digital music service. The iPod nano is available immediately in a 4GB model priced at just $249 and a 2GB model priced at just $199, with both models available in stunning white or black designs. “iPod nano is the biggest revolution since the original iPod,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “iPod nano is a full-featured iPod in an impossibly small size, and it’s going to change the rules for the entire portable music market.”
