September 19th, 2008
amelia’s version in italics
you’re a grand old flag
you’re a high flying flag
and forever in peace may you wave (way)
you’re the emblem of
the land i love
the home of the free (freedom) and the brave
ev’ry heart beats (beeps) true
‘neath (for) the red, white and blue
da da da da da -she can’t remember the rest of the words. or, she’s frustrated with us for trying to explain to her that hearts beat, cars beep. too cute!

hey that is what I do when I can’t remember words to songs too.
That’s cute. It reminds me of that time when Slugger was singing “Swing low, sweet cherry eyes.”
Too cute! I don’t think I learned that song until I was in fifth grade and we were gearing up for our D.C. trip! So she is really a head of the game knowing as much as she does!
